HAPKIDO HOME STUDY: WHITE BELT TO BLACK BELT

Our Hapkido training course is an interactive learning environment where anybody, anywhere, can learn Hapkido! Hapkido is a comprehensive martial arts system that focuses on effectiveness. Hapkido training is utilized by people who work in dangerous or hostile environments such as prison guards, mental health support staff, secret service, body guards, security, and service members of various military organizations.

Hapkido uses a combination of powerful distraction strikes and nerve attacks with standing joint manipulation of the wrist, elbow, shoulder, and knee. If used properly it will protect you in even the most violent of attacks. Over the years Hapkido has subdued dangerous criminals, prevented abductions, and has stopped rapists in their tracks.

HAPKIDO HOME STUDY: ROPE TECHNIQUES

One of the most unique weapons in Hapkido is the use of a rope or the practitioner's belt to capture the arm, leg or neck of the opponent. The rope is also used to block kicks and punches before wrapping and catching the opponent’s limbs. Subsequently, these techniques would become more direct and forceful using the student’s belt.

Once the opponent is within close range, the belt or rope is used to immobilize, choke or strangle him into submission. The Korean Rope was a favorite weapon in Korea’s Royal Court, where sharp weapons were banned, so palace guards adopted a simple, innocuous- looking rope as a weapon. The ability of the rope or bandanna's quick and circular techniques are designed to effectively wrap any part of an attacker’s body.

This video presents basic techniques of blocking, striking and whipping vital points, weapon disarming as well as choking with the rope or belt. Once you have viewed and practiced this material; you may become eligible to receive a certificate of completion.
